MidCity is growing and has an opportunity for a creative, analytical, and self-disciplined full-time Interior Designer to work in their fast-paced environment.

General Description:

Draw upon many disciplines to enhance the function, safety, and aesthetics of interior spaces. Focus on how different colors, textures, furniture, lighting, and space work together to meet the needs of a company’s workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Sales Associates to confer with client regarding factors affecting planning work environments, such as budget, architectural preferences, and purpose and function.
• Work closely with Sales Associates to advise client on interior design factors, such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, and color coordination.
• Formulate environmental plan to be practical, esthetic, and conducive to intended purposes, such as encouraging innovation, raising productivity, etc.
• Create two- and three-dimensional renderings using AutoCAD and other industry software.
• Estimate material requirements and costs, and present design to client for approval.


• Proven experience in interior design with an emphasis on office projects a plus.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited school.
• Working knowledge of CAD, drawing, perspective, spatial planning, color and fabrics, furniture design, architecture, and ergonomics.

MidCity offers Interior Design and Business students the opportunity to gain experience in a commercial furniture dealership. Interns will be exposed to daily business operations of a small firm, learning the structure and hierarchy of a company. During the internship you will work under the direct supervision of a single manager but will have the opportunity to interact with each member of our staff.
